ELIXIR
Guitar Strings from Gore are the technology solution for both the advanced and
professional musician as well as the casual musician. ELIXIR Guitar Strings feature:
For those of us that play
instruments with strings, this blessings also comes with a curse. It's called
dead strings. Nothing can discourage us more than dead lifeless strings. Tired
strings are not inspiring, nor are they musical.
With
a vision to change the world one set of strings at a time, we set our sights on
providing a better life for you, your instrument, and your music. A life of lasting
great sound that would inspire you to play, create, and pass along the blessing.
But
first, we had to deal with the curse…
What
causes regular strings to go dead?
You do. Every time you pick up your
guitar and play, you leave something behind. You are a DNA detectives dream! Under
close inspection you can find tiny bits of dead skin, body oils, sweat, left over
pizza, and all manners of gunk left behind on your strings. Stuck between the
windings of the string, and oozing microscopically down to it's core, this gunk
causes dampening and dead sounding strings. Not only that, but the environment
doesn't help either. Humidity, salty air, club haze and the like all contribute
to the corrosion of your strings! No wonder they always need changing. Until now…
How
Elixir Strings solve these problems.
With the knowledge that gunk between
the windings of a string (and goo between the windings and the core) is what causes
strings to go dead and sound bad, We charted a path to the cure. Not just any
cure, but THE cure. If the problem was the gunk and goo that cause contamination
and corrosion, then the goal was to protect the windings and core from these enemies
of tone! But how?
Starting
into uncharted territory, our fearless crew at ELIXIR® busted out the chemistry
set and brewed enough 'Joe to last the journey. They cooked, they coated, they
played Beatles songs, they drank too much soda. They encountered many things on
the way - like you can't put just anything on the string or wrap wire, or it might
harm the tone itself. After many moons, and too much caffeine, our heroes finally
arrived at the secret solution…
ELIXIR®
Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, spaceage polymer tube that contacts the
string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all important winding-to-winding-to-core
space free from the fear of the enemies of tone! No more gunk and goo. No more
DNA evidence. No kidding.
What's
the benefit to you? ELIXIR® Strings deliver great tone AND long life - in fact,
most players report that ELIXIR® Strings stay sounding great 3 to 5 times longer
than ordinary strings.
The
Proof is in the…
…pudding? Out of the petri dish and onto a Les Paul. You
probably want to know how the ELIXIR® String magic stands up in the real world,
so here's the story of five different types of players.
The
Player - you change strings every week.
Always practicing, gigging, and
perhaps selling current gear to buy different gear! Elixir Strings are perfect
for you because their great tone and long life frees you from one less distraction.
Day after day, night after night, gig after gig - just great sounding strings.
Not only that, but since they last five times longer than ordinary strings - you'll
spend less time and money on strings, and you can start saving for (or obsessing
about) that new amp!
The
Recording Player - you need sound consistency.
Has this ever happened
to you…? You found the coolest guitar sound one evening, and began tracking your
latest hit. Three days later you come back to add to the track, but the sound
you had the other night is mysteriously gone. The sounds don't match, something
has sucked the life out of your Grammy potential tone. More than likely it's your
old strings. Bright and snappy one night, dull and lifeless the next. Elixir Strings
to the rescue! More and more recording pros are choosing Elixir Strings because
they deliver a consistent sound quality that lasts for the entire recording, and
longer.
The
String Killer - Mr. Evil Acid Hands.
Do your friends not let you play
their guitars because you'll kill the strings in 10 minutes? Does crusty describe
your strings more than the last pizza you ate? Let's face it, some of us were
born with the magic touch, others with a corrosive touch. But why should you suffer?
Once again, Elixir Strings are the cure for you. With our super Sci-fi coating
protecting the strings, you'll get all of the great tone you've always dreamed
of. Your strings will stay alive and zesty for way longer than ever before, and
you'll play better as your fingers fly over the crust-free zone!
The
Collector - one of these, one of those, and 14 others ta boot!
You are
the kind of player that appreciates the truth and beauty of a Tele, the grace
and refinement of a Tom Anderson DropTop, and the timeless craftsmanship of a
fine hollowbody. Oh, to be in your shoes one day! Your main problem is when you
go to pull out a guitar that hasn't been played lately, you can't enjoy it because
it's strings have become corroded, lifeless and dead. If it had Elixir Strings
on it, you wouldn't have to worry. Every instrument in your collection could come
out of it's case and sound as great as the last time you played it. Sweet!
The
Casual Player / Beginner - you're learning to play, and/or only play occasionally.
Elixir Strings have two real benefits for you! First, the ultra-cool coating improves
the feel of the strings, and makes them less "squeaky" than regular
strings. Secondly, since the strings will stay great for a long time, you won't
have to worry about them getting crusty and sounding bad, and you can go on enjoying
life!
Validation
is everywhere
These are not just mere fairy tales! Consider this part
of the Elixir story: more and more discriminating guitar builders and companies

long play? Polymer Coated is a New Age Solution to an Age Old Problem! All acoustic
strings are susceptible to the elements. Vinci has developed a polymer shield
that is bonded to these phosphor bronze alloys. This coating virtually eliminates
tarnish, increases playability, and improves tone for 3 to 4 to even 5 times longer
than regular guitar strings. So you're not constantly restringing your guitar!

Learn more about Vinci strings below:
Vinci strings is one
of the oldest American string companies in the U.S.! Vinci strings is located
in Mundelein, Illinois and has been manufacturing strings for nearly five generations.
The great inventor and guitar maker Mario Maccaferri once remarked,
"The heart of the guitar is its strings." Strings are the heartbeat, the pulse
that transforms the small, silent , wooden box into such a powerful, expressive
tool. The string's magic dance creates an infinite variety of ordered sounds -
the string's "information content," as it were. The guitar itself narrows this
vast field down to a far simpler set of discrete sounds - to the ones that our
culture has come to regard as musical - first, by the means of the fretboard,
then by the structure an anatomy of the soundbox.
Vinci has and still
is producing high quality American made strings made from the finest raw materials
available. Using techniques that have made Vinci famous and utilizing the most
modern computer technology for the manufacturing of strings, we have been able
to create a product that is of superior sound quality while remaining economical
for the working musician.
And remember, please support American made
products!
History of Vinci Musical Strings
During the
mid-1950s, Mr. Amelio Vinci and his son Tom revolutionized the string industry
with the invention of the automatic string machine, making it possible to wind
a string in a fraction of the time it took by hand. Together they secured their
patents and started selling their machines to string and guitar manufacturers
all over the world. Today, most major string manufacturers in the United States
are using Vinci’s machines.
Vinci Strings are made using a fine Swedish
steel core. The electric strings are wound using a high iron content nickel that
produces a higher magnetic response than the more commonly used windings. The
acoustic strings are wound with either 80/20 brass or phosphor bronze which delivers
a much brighter response. Each string is carefully wound with precise tension,
which delivers consistency in tone and a long life.
U.S. Music Corporation
acquired Vinci Strings in 1992 and sold it to Washburn International in 2000.
Washburn has continued the manufacturing process derived from the Vinci family.
Vinci sells products to the USA, Canada, and most other countries in the world.
Vinci also produces strings for other major string manufacturers and can custom
label products for manufacturers and music dealers.
Many celebrated
musicians such as Carlos Santana, Al DiMeola, and Jerry Garcia have trusted Vinci
Strings for their great projection and sustain.
