This collection features a huge rock kit with several different snares, a few variations of the kick drum and different room ambience treatments. We wanted to make using Discrete Drums as easy as possible by editing the sections to loopable lengths. Verses, Choruses, Bridges etc can be butt-spliced together or played back to back with no further editing required. Whole kit crashes are included to use as endings, or placed in a beat where desired. To alter the tempo of these tracks, please consult the documentation of your host application. Discrete Drums is compatible with both Mac and PC, and works with Pro Tools, Vegas, Digital Performer, Cakewalk, and just about any other digital audio program capable of reading or importing .WAV files. Series 1 Professional Set consists of 31 Performances, each with several sections including: intros fills chorus verse bridge endings alternate beat no kick drum breakdowns splash beat (splashy cymbals) ride beat (time on the ride cymbal) tom beat (tom tom version) b verses c sections sections played with brushes even a few sections with the snares turned off. There is also a bonus track, and 7 different "Crash and Burn" endings. Cut and paste and assemble to build the arrangement you want. Naming conventions are for reference only -- Intros can be used as fills, verses as choruses etc. No reverbs (either hardware or software) were used in the mixing or recording of these performances. Lots of segments on this one as it will get a lot of use . disc ten Slow Trip - 70/140 BPM - slow drums with a snakey loop. Includes a break down with the top layers only, just cymbals playing fills and flourishes. Percussion loop includes brush tabla, cymbal, frame drum, gourd, leslie. Sparse - 65 BPM - the “top” sections are a light airy breakdown with time kept on the cymbal. They flow into one another, (suggestion: start with “top” and loop “top 2” as many times as you need, then end with top crash) The “sparse” section is a long break section with light fills and flurries. When used with the loop, it really works well. Percussion loop includes conga, finger cymbal, leslie, mute bottle, shaker, talking drum, water bottle. disc eleven Swing Theory - 90 BPM - laid back, funky groove with unusual perc loop. Lots of motion. Percussion loop includes cymbal mute, drum, ratchet, scrape, shaker, tamb. Tighten - 105 BPM - funky, alt pop track with cool loop. Percussion loop includes beads, hand percussion, metal, muff drum, tamb. Towel- 90 BPM - very laid back mellow dry drums. Military flavored loop with the snare recorded on 3 tracks - try using center in the front, and left/right placed in the rear if working in surround. Ringo was said to use towels on his drums to get that cool dry Beatles drum sound. What most don’t realize is that the towels he used were not big cotton towels, but English tea towels - very thin linen.
