What is VST?
For Cubase VST it's all the same; if you want to record
guitar, vocals, weird old analog synths, just plug into Cubase and press 'Record'
to make 16 bit 44.1 kHz recordings. You can even record and arrange audio and
MIDI at the same time, using the same tools. VST turns your computer into a powerful
environment for both audio and MIDI recordings. The Monitor window lies at the
center of VST. Here you balance levels, check your equalization, apply effects,
to each and every audio channel. And every change you make can be recorded, for
instant animated automation of virtually every audio parameter VST offers. Here
also you can assign any channel to any of the system buses, so if you have an
audio card with multiple outs, anything can be sent anywhere. So if you really
must connect your favorite hardware effect, it just becomes another part of the
VST system.
Up to 4 separate bands of fully parametric EQ to be allocated
to each channel until you have achieved your desired result. Each EQ offers Gain,
Frequency, Level and Q-factor. Effects Processing is performed entirely by your
computer's main processor. You do not need any DSP-Hardware to run VST. That's
what we call native audio processing.
Cubase VST comes complete with
two different reverbs, chorus & flanger, delay & echo, auto-panner, fuzzbox,
guitar tuner, and more! But thatŐs not the end of the story! Steinberg has developed
a PlugIn concept that means any new effects that are developed can be simply dropped
